Thanks to Marble Brewery, Breaking Bad fans don’t have to wait to revel in the fate of Walter White. On August 8, the Albuquerque, New Mexico-based brewery will be releasing two commemorative beers celebrating the epic fifth and final season of the show.
As fans of the show, Marble’s co-founder and brewmaster Ted Rice has brewed two 30-barrel batches of Heisenberg’s Dark, a black IPA named after main character Walter White’s meth cooking alter-ego, and Walt’s White Lie, a white IPA. The beers will be available on draft at Marble’s three tap room locations, as well as select Marble draft accounts the week before the final season premiere.
“It’s just something we’re doing for fun,” says Rice. “Obviously, Breaking Bad is filmed in Albuquerque, our beers have been on the show numerous times, and some of the cast members have been to the brewery to enjoy a beer after a day of shooting.”
Marble Beer and many parts of their hometown have been featured in the show, and the brewery staff is excited for people to come from all around the country to enjoy the beer during the Marble viewing party on August 11.
This release could prove to be a boost in New Mexico’s beer tourism business, leading Breaking Bad and craft beer fans to take a “Beer-cation” in Albuquerque.
“If people are really interested in this beer, they should fly to Albuquerque and see the Breaking Bad sites, drink some beer and come to our viewing parties,” says Rice
Rice and the Marble staff is also hoping that some of the cast who frequent the brewery will join in on the festivities on August 8.
