What’s the difference between craft beer and any other good that’s produced? There are many, but few other manufactured goods are so willing to throw open their doors to show customers just how exactly their favorite products are made. Think about it, with the exception of Buca Di Beppo, if you wondered back into a kitchen of your favorite restaurant, you’d probably get asked to leave.
Touring breweries has become a popular weekend activity for so many beer aficionados, but you can’t always get to the breweries you really want to visit. However, if you’re jonesin’ to take a peek inside Yards Brewing Co. in Philadelphia, Pa., you can now do that from the comfort of your own home. Yards is believed to have the very first Google 360° virtual brewery tour.
“The tour begins at our Green Wall (Mt. Hood, Centennial and Chinook hops with a pollinator garden),” says Yards’ Gina Vasoli. “To continue the tour, turn right towards the corner, then turn left and go up the steps into our tasting room.”
As you continue past the taproom into the brewery, keep clicking the cursor arrows to find a new corner of the brewery. Best part is, there are no hoses to avoid tripping on. Worst part, no sampler tray at the end of your visit.
