Drake’s Triple Hopped Aroma Swap at Public House SF
On July 18th in San Francisco, Public House will feature Drake’s Brewing for their with two exclusive casks specialty casks side-by-side along with a few other Drake’s brews. Drake’s Brewers John Gillooly and Chris Dunstan along with a hearty contingent of the San Leandro brewery crew will be there to talk about the beers. Details on the casks and the event series are below.
Drake’s Brewing Co’s Aroma Coma and Aroma Prieta are back and brimming with vigourous hop aromas eager to leap from the taps, into glasses, up some olfactory canals, and into various hop-heads’ pleasure points. Drake’s Brewing Company’s double dry-hopped American and New Zealand IPAs already pack a wallop in the hop department, but for the truly initiated, the truly hop obsessed, we have created a way to take it to an even higher level of hoppiness.
The brewers have made a limited handful of specialty casks of Aroma Coma and Prieta to serve side-by-side at beer events thoroughout California, but there’s a catch. Into the American hopped Aroma Coma cask they have added a third dry-hop with New Zealand hops Nelson Sauvin and Motueka, and into the New Zealand hopped Aroma Prieta cask, they stuffed American hops Cascade and Amarillo.
What does the switch do to the hop flavors? How does the cask conditioning demonstrate the nuances of all the hops? Fans will have four opportunities to find out.
These cask duos previously only available at the Drake’s Barrel House on release days will be available along with a sampling of other Drake’s brews four times during July and August at special “Triple Hopped Aroma Swap” events in Los Angeles, San Jose, San Francisco, and Davis, and then they are gone until next year.
