New Glarus Brewing Company

By Brewers Association

Unless you hail from the great state of Wisconsin, you may not have had a chance to taste the amazing beers coming out of the tiny “village” of New Glarus (population 2,300).  New Glarus is known for two things, its vibrant Swiss heritage and its locally owned brewery, New Glaurus Brewing Co.

Since its creation in 1993, the husband and wife team of Dan and Deborah Carey have been wowing craft beer lovers with delicious and unique beers utilizing 100% natural ingredients.  They have chosen to only distribute within the state of Wisconsin, making their beers all the more desirable and rare.

Those lucky enough to be attending the Great American Beer Festival (GABF) will be able to taste New Glarus beers, but prepare yourself for quite the line—these guys are amazingly popular!  It doesn’t hurt their reputation that they were awarded the Mid-size Brewery of the Year Award in 2005 and 2006 at GABF.

New Glarus offers six year round beers:
- Moon Man Pale Ale
- Spotted Cow Farmhouse Ale
- Fat Squirrel Brown Ale
- Stone Soup Abbey Ale
- Wisconsin Belgian Red
- Raspberry Tart Framboise Ale

New Glarus is very in-touch with their fan base and gives them the opportunity to help decide what is brewed each year with their “Beer Vote“.  Voters may select five beers that they would like to see brewed in the next year using their Beer Ballot. Voting continues through August—vote for your favorites!
