FCB Releases Vintage Beer Maibock in May

Fort Collins, CO – On April 28th, Fort Collins Brewery (FCB) is bringing Maibock back for a final farewell.  Looking back on a decorated career, fans may remember the gold medal win at the 2013 BTI World Beer Championships as well as the malty spring 2015 brew that was aged over the winter.  FCB reserved a small amount of this 2015 batch for cellaring.  After aging for a year, this German-style brew resurfaces again, just in time for bock weather. But all good things must come to an end and 2016 will mark the 12th year releasing this vintage brew, one last time.

At a robust 6.4% ABV, Maibock has extreme clarity with an amber to light garnet color and tan head. Munich malts impart a smooth and sweet finish with playful toffee notes that round out the beer. But what other detections will one find after Maibock has been cellared in the dark and wrapped like a mummy for a year? Upon tasting the 2016 vintage, Tina Peters, FCB Owner and General Manager explains that, “this beer has aged extremely well as the flavors have grown richer and further melded together. The hop bitterness has faded but instead you’ll notice a hint of pepper and a sweet, caramel complexity.”

The farewell tour will begin on April 28th  with the final Maibock batch available in 22oz bombers in Colorado as well as with a few select distributers, while supplies last. For more information about Maibock, call 970-472-1499.

Fort Collins Brewery & Tavern is a family-owned, handcrafted microbrewery and full service tavern in Northern Colorado, established in 2003. FCB offers an outstanding lineup of 50 ales and lagers that can be found on tap as well as in bottles throughout the U.S. FCB is a 2015 GABF® Gold Medal Winner for Oktoberfest in the Dortmunder/German-Style Oktoberfest category. For more information, visit fortcollinsbrewery.com or call 970-472-1499. Brewery tours run Monday – Friday by appointment and Saturday from 12 – 4 p.m. (at the top of the hour). Create – Share – Savor
