Twisted Pine Rolls Out Barrel-aged Goodness
Reilly’s Oak Whiskey Red released September 14th
Boulder, Colorado – September 12th 2012 – After fourteen months resting in bourbon barrels from the Buffalo Trace distillery, Reilly’s Oak Whiskey Red, a Scottish-style ale that won gold at GABF 2007 in the Wood- and Barrel-aged category, is ready to party. Bartenders at Twisted Pine Brewing Company’s ale house will begin pouring the oaken gem at 4pm on Friday, September 14th, and continue until the limited supplies are depleted.
Reilly’s pours deep crimson with a proper and persistent khaki head. The aroma drifts up in a wave of matured malt laced with bourbon, vanilla and raisins. One sip washes the palate with restrained malt sweetness tinged with toasted toffee and punctuated by a welcoming whiskey warmth. Earthy, bourbon-soaked oak and caramel barley build to a beautiful balance as sip by sensuous smooth sip leave the glass.
This well-rested Red is available in 12oz bottles by the four-pack, as well as in draft form, at Twisted Pine along with a select few other local establishments. In addition, brewers will be pouring Reilly’s Oak Whiskey Red at the Great American Beer Festival, where the beer is once again up for judging in the country’s largest national competition.
