BON BEER VOYAGE LEADS SIGHTSEERS ON A BREWNIQUE TOUR
THROUGH NATION’S CAPITAL ON JUNE 9
BOYNTON BEACH, FL – May 26, 2012 – Bon Beer Voyage, a specialty tour company for craft beer enthusiasts, will lead a beer themed guided sightseeing tour of Washington, DC on Saturday, June 9 at 10:00 a.m., meeting at the 17th Street entrance of the World War II Memorial (across the street from the Washington Monument).
Participants will explore some of the most inspiring monuments in the nation’s capital city while learning how beer is intertwined with those who have served our country. The 2 ½- to 3-hour walking tour will be led by Ruth Berman, CEO & BBB (brains behind the beer) of Bon Beer Voyage, who is also a licensed Washington, DC tour guide.
“We are running the tour on June 9th so those attending SAVOR: An American Craft Beer & Food Experience, as well as the other great beer events in the city that weekend can say they actually did some sightseeing, along with their beer sampling,” Berman said. “For the first-time visitor or the longtime resident, the tour will provide a new perspective of our nation’s capital.”
Cost of the tour is $15 per person and reservations can be made online at www.BonBeer.com . Arrive at least 10 minutes early; the tour will start promptly at 10:00 a.m. While the topic of beer will be served up during the tour, no beer will actually be served. “The tour is not designed as a pub crawl,” Berman said. “I designed it to be a fun way to see the monuments and learn a little about them and how they are connected to beer. I lead a lot of tours in DC. Sometimes my tour groups want to hear a lot about the monuments; sometimes they just want the bare facts. Even when we just talk about the bare facts, I try to share the interesting points about each monument, rather than the standard facts that they can read about in any tour book. This tour combines the best of my arsenal of bare facts with the ‘beer facts.’ ”
Bon Beer Voyage’s other upcoming tours include the St. Augustine Beer Safari Weekend during September 2012 and a weeklong “beercation” cruise through Belgium and France in October 2012.
