EGC Group’s Craft Beverage Division Launches Hi-Tech Global Hops Website

Share Post

The EGC Group Craft Beverage Division is proud to announce the development and launch of Hopsteiner’s much-anticipated, all-new global hops website. EGC produced a sophisticated, and informative, high tech website: http://www.hopsteiner.com

Bold, eye-catching photography, stunning HD video backgrounds, an interactive visual hops selection grid, dynamically-generated hop variety data sheets, brewing calculators, custom sales video, advanced eCRM, interactive global sales rep map, and social wall – are among some of the new features.

Hops are the flowers from the Humulus lupulus hop plant, and primarily used as a flavoring ingredient in beer. Hops impart a bitter, zesty or citrusy flavor and aroma to beer. The popularity and demand for hops recently exploded alongside the craft beer industry. Craft brews use exponentially more hops in their beer. One bottle of India Pale Ale contains about the same amount of hops as an entire case of mass-produced US Lager.

Hopsteiner is the world’s largest grower and distributor of hops, and for the past six generations, has been synonymous with world-renowned hops and hop products. Hopsteiner controls hop farms, offices, storage and processing facilities throughout the world.

Hopsteiner hired EGC to spearhead the redesign of their global website. Hopsteiner was running two multi-language websites, for the United States and Germany, both of which contained similar content. The sites were outdated, underutilized and suffering from a deadly combination of stale, non-dynamic content, with nonexistent SEO.

EGC combined a highly-strategic communications plan with all-new software to conquer the challenge. EGC was able to create one, unified master website in English for the USA, and with the help from some proprietary new software, created the ability to cast multi-language websites that are translated by actual people of the same dialect.

The new Hopsteiner website allows a single point person in the United States to control and maintain their entire global website presence, and for each new change they make in English, with the click of a button, update some or all of the other language sites.

We created a stylish new visual identity for this 176-year old brand that included specific colors and fonts. We created a homogenous look throughout the websites, and customer backend portals.

The shining star of the new website is Hopsteiner’s Hop Varieties Grid. We captured all-new hops photography, capturing the unique personality of every hop variety. Hopsteiner’s extensive list of hops can be easily perused and sorted by growing region, new and experimental varieties, aroma characteristics, by percentage of alpha content and more.

Click on any hop to launch its Hop Variety Data Sheet (VDS). The VDS pulls real-time data into an easy-to-read and shareable data sheet. Learn about a hop’s variety-specific data, including: aroma specifications, genetic origin, agronomic aspects, hop alternatives and more. See it here: http://www.hopsteiner.com/variety-data-sheets

To create the most frictionless user experience, we produced both desktop and mobile versions of the website.
