Geeky Brewery is a Family Affair, Looking for Community Support

A married duo of craft brewers is gaining community support to open a decidedly geeky craft brewery. Jesse and Tasha Wilson recently launched a Kickstarter for LoveCraft Brewing Company, a new kind of brewery that will cater to both beer geeks and geeks who drink beer.

The brewery is currently seeking to raise $30,000 of crowdfunded support by the end of October. At the time of this post, the project has already raised over $13,000 from 163 supporters.

Named in homage to horror author and geek hero H.P. Lovecraft, the brewery’s initial slate will include five diverse ales with otherworldly inspiration. Head brewer Jesse has put his own twist on northwest staples including his Hypnos IPA and Satori Cascadian Dark Ale, but is also committed to brewing farmhouse-style ales using the traditional French and Belgian technique. His Elder God Bier de Garde and Olde Kitsap Saison put a new spin on century-old classics, and his Bruthulhu Barley Wine is a complex beast made for the most discerning of beer palates.

Jesse currently works as a brewer at Port Townsend Brewing Company and has previously worked at Hale’s Ales in Seattle. He and Tasha met while working at Hales, and bring over seven years of brewing experience to their new venture.

A wide array of rewards is available to supporters who back the Kickstarter campaign. They include the obvious slate of t-shirts, hoodies, and pint glasses, but also offer a custom-made beer stein and the opportunity to brew a custom full-production batch of beer with Jesse at the brewery.

LoveCraft Brewing Company is looking to open in mid-2015 in the revitalized downtown Bremerton area. Just a ferry ride away from Seattle, Bremerton is situated in the burgeoning beer hub of Kitsap County – where 10 breweries have popped up in recent years.
