Tallahassee brewery celebrates its own tap takeover
GrassLands Brewing Company, a Tallahassee, FL brewery that opened its taproom in February 2015, is celebrating a re-grand opening on December 5th from noon to midnight.
Upon opening its doors earlier this year, GrassLands’ taproom was only able to serve other breweries’ beer as a result of federal and state licensing obstacles. As of July, 2015, the growing brewery began brewing its own craft beer on a smaller, pilot system and started releasing batches to the public in September. The company awaits the arrival of its 15 barrel, production-sized brewing system set to be delivered by the close of 2015, and to begin distributing its beer throughout Tallahassee by April 2016.
The Grand(er) Opening celebrates GrassLands’ entire core beer lineup with new styles and flavors released for the occasion, including some favorites like LeeRoy the Red, Tropical Storm Brett IPA, Mint Chocolate Stout, and Pickle Tickle Dill Gose. Family-friendly activities will be held until 5pm provided by numerous local non-profits. There will also be craft demonstrations, including blacksmithing and glass blowing. Live music hosted by Garages on Gaines, will be provided throughout the day by local bands: Driving Lights, Sway Jah Vu, Pimp Lightning, The Hub Chason Band, The Benders, and Maharaja Flamenco Trio. The first thousand patrons will receive a custom GrassLands bumper sticker.
