EUGENE, Ore.—Ninkasi Brewing Company proudly names Per Nielsen as vice president of sales. Previously holding the role of business development director, Nielsen led the opening of three key states for the brewery as well as select areas in California within the past seven months.

“We are excited to have the opportunity to integrate Per’s experience in leading a sales organization to Ninkasi,” says Ninkasi CEO and co-founder, Nikos Ridge. “As we continue to develop our teams and add value to our wholesalers, retail customers, and Ninkasi fans, we look forward to building an even stronger sales team under Per’s leadership.”

Nielsen joined Ninkasi as business development director in May 2014, bringing more than 25 years of experience to the independent craft brewery. First entering the industry in 1987 as an area sales manager for Carlsberg Breweries, Nielsen managed distributor and account relationships in California and Florida for seven years before transitioning to a key accounts manager for Anheuser-Busch Companies, Inc. There, Nielsen held a series of roles at the company including business development and lastly, as the retail sales director for eight western states including Oregon, Washington and Colorado. Nielsen brings his wealth of experience in growing sales, share and managing successful teams to Ninkasi.

Starting immediately, Nielsen will lead Ninkasi’s sales team, covering its current distribution footprint of eight states, Alberta and Vancouver, Canada.
