One Year Anniversary: Trophy Bottles, Live Music, New Beers!

Share Post

A year after opening, Braxton Brewing Company will be celebrating their first anniversary on Saturday, March 26th at their taproom and MadLot event space. To celebrate, the Covington-based brewery is releasing their second bottled beer, hosting four music acts on an outdoor stage, releasing new beers on draft, hosting food trucks, and presenting their first Trophy Grant.

“It’s hard to believe that we’re approaching our One Year Anniversary,” said Jake Rouse, Braxton Brewing Co. Co-founder and CEO. “Looking back on the past 12 months the thing that stands out most to me is all the people we’ve met. With them in mind, we’ve decided to throw a massive celebration with new beers, and an incredible music lineup! It’s going to be a special day – we can’t wait to celebrate with everyone!”

Trophy Pale Ale is a beer that Braxton launched in June of 2015. Trophy’s hop profile changes quarterly as the brewing team sources specialty, unique hops to highlight in the same base recipe. This beer, which is only distributed in Northern Kentucky, serves as Braxton’s “Give Back Beer.” 5% of all Trophy proceeds are donated back into Northern Kentucky Community projects. At the One Year Anniversary, the brewery will be releasing the first Trophy 22 oz. Bottle.

“Trophy holds a special place in our lineup,” said Evan Rouse, Co-Founder and Head Brewer. ”We aim to use really unique, sometimes rare, and even unfamiliar hops. I love this style and the Trophy line as a whole because it allows our team, as well as the consumer, to really dive deep in the profile of that particular hop. To finally have it in bottles is extremely exciting, and the One Year Anniversary seemed like the perfect event for the first release.”

Bottles will be released in the taproom on March 26th. There will be no bottle limit for those wishing to buy multiples. A smaller amount of bottles will be sent into Northern Kentucky retail outlets. This is Braxton’s second Trophy variation of 2016 and first of three additional Trophy bottle releases throughout the remainder of the year.

In addition to a new packaged product, Braxton Brewing Company will also be releasing three new beers on draft throughout the day. Each new beer will also have two additional variants with recipes that are still being finalized.

Catalyst Czech Pilsner will celebrate the company’s success of lagers throughout its first year. 1st Gear Belgian IPA will celebrate the popular style with the use of Galaxy, Simcoe, and Amarillo hops. And finally, the company is celebrating the news, announcements, and feedback from the year with Yesterday’s Headlines Berliner Weisse.

“Braxton is one year old. Like any proud parents, the first year was a blur — full of surprises, several occasions to rejoice, but also some tense moments. What a change, what an evolution.  Throughout the year you’ve heard us say two words: Lager and Multiplicity. The brewing team could not be more excited to present another great lager, and a selection of very unique offerings,” said Brewmaster and Co-Founder Richard Dubè. “Come and join us to ‘Lift One to Life’ amongst friends and family.”

With new beer flowing through the taps, live music will be flowing from the outdoor stage setup in the MadLot directly adjacent to the brewing company’s taproom. Braxton Brewing Company has created an exciting lineup of live music to keep you toe-tapping and foot-stomping throughout the day.

Buffalo Wabs & The Price Hill Hustle, who just won a Cincinnati Entertainment Award (CEA), take the stage at Noon to get the party started. They’ll be followed by fellow CEA Award Winners, The Tillers.

During the evening, Motherfolk, who headlined Braxton’s Block Party in December and played at last summer’s Bunbury Music Festival, will take the stage. At 9pm, national touring and award-winning Red Wanting Blue will take the stage to headline an incredible day of music.

The live music stage will be joined by outdoor beer service and food trucks.

To celebrate the community that the brewery lives and brews in, Braxton Brewing Company will also be awarding their first Trophy Grant. This grant, the accumulation of Trophy proceeds from year one, will be presented to a local non-profit.

“The first year in this journey is almost complete, and Braxton wants to make sure we celebrate all of our accomplishments in a monumental way. On March 26th, we are going to celebrate with a bottle release, new beers and an amazing music lineup. We are truly pulling out all the stops to bring you a party that is uniquely Braxton,” said Greg Rouse, Co-Founder and COO.  “It’s a celebration for you, our faithful friends that have supported us from day one. Months of diligent planning are going into this and we certainly hope that you will come and lift one to life with us.”
