PORT BREWING’S SHARK ATTACK WINS BEST OF SHOW AT 2014 SAN DIEGO INTERNATIONAL BEER COMPETITION
San Marcos, CA, — The 8th Annual San Diego International Beer Competition concluded Sunday, June 22nd with Port Brewing’s Shark Attack Double Red Ale taking home a gold medal as well as the coveted “Best of Show” award. Best of Show is presented to the highest rated beer of the competition.
For three years in a row, Port Brewing / The Lost Abbey has either won Best of Show or the Champion Brewery Award at the San Diego International Beer Fest. In 2012, Best of Show was bestowed upon Lost Abbey’s Carnevale Ale, 2013 The Lost Abbey was awarded Champion Brewery. In addition, the 2011 festival ended up with Port Brewing Co garnering 6 total medals, which was tied for the most awards in the competition.

In addition to the Gold medal for Shark Attack in the Imperial Red category, Port Brewing also received a Silver medal for a Wood and Barrel Aged beer, as well as a Bronze in the Dark Lager category for Hot Rocks Lager.
The San Diego International Beer Competition and Festival ran from June 20th through June 22nd at the Del Mar Fairgrounds. The competition received over 900 entries from 19 different countries and 22 states in the U.S. making it one of the largest in the country.
