(AUSTIN, TX) On Saturday, May 11th, Rogness Brewing Company celebrated their 1st anniversary with a video game themed party with 12 beers, including 3 new ones. Adding to the unique ambiance, attendees had the opportunity to bid in a silent auction benefiting the Capital Area Food Bank of Texas.

On Friday, May 24th, Rogness Brewing Company presented a check of $2,214 to representatives from the food bank. According to the food bank, this money will provide over 5,500 meals to hungry Texans, many of whom are children.

Silent auction items included brewery merchandise, private parties at the brewery, kegerators, homebrewing equipment kits from Austin Homebrew Supply, and more.

“We were honored to participate in a great time for a great cause,” said Jay Yarger, General Manger of Austin Homebrew Supply. “Homebrewing is a hobby that usually quenches thirst. And, in this case, hunger too.”

In their first year of brewing, owners Forrest and Diane Rogness wound up releasing 12 different beers and several tasting room only test batches. The current mainstay lineup includes 6 beers in 22 oz bottles and on draft and another 4 that are available on draft only. Dave Heath and Dan Wheeler handle the brewing duties and will soon get to showcase their own recipes in a new line of small batch beers called “Rogness Reserve.”

This Summer, Rogness is also preparing to unveil their third seasonal offering, a lemon lavender saison called Joie d’été. The French phrase translates to “Summer joy” and is the brainchild of Diane. She also created the recipe for Yogi, their year round chai spiced amber ale.

Rogness beers are available in over 150 bars, restaurants and bottle shops in the Austin area as well as Dallas, Fort Worth, Houston and San Antonio. They host regular tasting room hours on Saturdays as well as monthly concerts and game nights. Visit rognessbrewing.com for more info on events and beers.
