Victory Brewing had a new state-of-the-art production facility in picturesque Parkesburg, Pennsylvania, 12 year round beers, 12 seasonal/specialty beers, and a yearly output of 102,973 barrels of beer in 2013.  Victory sells beer in 35 states, Canada, and Europe.  That’s a lot of different beers spread over a lot of ground.  And, it’s not good enough for people just to have access to the beer, they also have to consume it at the proper time, “Some beers we want to be enjoyed as fresh as possible. Others taste very good if they are laid down and aged for several years. That’s why we put the date on every bottle,” explained Director of Brewery Operations Adam Bartles.

“In the craft beer industry, we often share our experience with different vendors with each other,” said Steven Galliera Director of Engineering, so it’s not surprising that Victory reached out to Firestone Walker with date lot coding questions.  Firestone Walker directed them to Domino Printing, and Domino worked with Victory to determine that the right fit was the D320i laser.  Galliera explains why, “One of the key reasons we chose Domino is the reliability and repeatability of their laser.  And the reason that’s so important is during changeovers, we don’t want to lose any production time, because we know we have customers that are waiting for our product.”  To install the laser, Domino custom engineered a stand with a graduated X and Y axis that would allow easy changeover to code 12 oz, 22 oz, and 750 mL bottles.  When asked about Victory’s coding, Bartles will be the first to tell you, that Domino has made coding “one less thing for us to worry about.”
