Huntsville, Ala. – Alabama’s premier craft distributor, AlaBev, will host a tasting event to announce the grand-prize winner of its Masters of the Brewniverse homebrew competition on Thursday, April 28, at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville. The tasting event, which takes place during the Rocket Center’s weekly Biergarten, will serve as the finale for the spring round of this bi-annual competition. The public and media are invited to sample brews from the Top 25 competition finalists and to cast their votes for crowd favorites, including: Best Beer, Most Unique Name, Best Seasonality, and Best Tent. A portion of the event’s proceeds will benefit local charity LearningQUEST, the Biergarten charity partner for the evening.

AlaBev partnered with Straight to Ale Brewing and Wish You Were Beer to host and judge the competition. Each registered brew will be scored based on its aroma, appearance, flavor, mouthfeel, seasonality, and overall impression. The brew with the highest total score will be named the Spring 2016 grand-prize winner.

The grand-prize winner will have the opportunity to brew a limited edition, specialty beer with Straight to Ale Brewing that will be distributed by AlaBev to retailers across Alabama. The grand-prize winner will also receive a SS Brewtech 14 Gallon Chronical Conical Fermenter.
