150 Canned Craft Beers from 50 different Breweries across 20 States in Scottsdale, Saturday May 18th

Craft beer, live music, food truck eats, beer Olympics and a beer science garden top highlights for Ameri-CAN Canned Craft Beer Festival
Scottsdale, AZ (April 18, 2013) — In celebration of American Craft Beer Week more than 50 breweries from across 20 different states will crack the tabs on their handcrafted canned beer Saturday, May 18th in Scottsdale. In addition to the ice cold suds, other event highlights include live entertainment by local bands, a food truck food court, beer Olympic games, a beer science garden, awards ceremony, VIP area and more.“One of the reasons that this event is so special is because we’re bringing local, regional and national brewers together to share their beers with the Arizona community. This event offers the best of local beers and many that we wouldn’t normally have access to in this market,” said Landon Evans, event coordinator.
Participating local Arizona breweries include Grand Canyon Brewing, Four Peaks, Lumberyard, Mudshark Brewing, Prescott Brewing Company and SanTan Brewing Company who will serve their four core beers as well as the popular summer seasonal, Mr. Pineapple Wheat Beer.
From California, Golden Road Brewing’s Point The Way IPA and Get Up Offa That Brown are sure to be a hit. Also, 21st Amendment Brewery fans will enjoy Brew Free! Or Die. Other California highlights include, TailGate Beer, Uncommon Brewers and Anderson Valley Brewing Company will bring a variety of Pale Ales, Stouts and Pilsners. Crispin Cider Company’s Crispin Brownslane cider will offer an apple cider gluten free option.
Colorado based breweries include Blue Moon Brewing Company, Crazy Mountain Brewing, New Belgium Brewery, Breckenridge Brewery, Boulder Beer, Ska Brewing and the first craft brewery to can, Oskar Blues Brewery.
All the way from Washington DC, beer drinkers will enjoy DC Brau Brewing Company’s Citizen Belgian Ale and Penn Quarter Porter. From the Sunshine State, the highly anticipated Cigar City Brewing is bringing four canned craft beers to Ameri-CAN this year including Jai Alai IPA, Maduro Brown Ale, Hotter Than Helles Lager & Florida Cracker White Ale!
Other highlights include Nevada based Joseph James Brewing, Hawaii’s Maui Brewing Company and Payette Brewing out of Idaho. From Illinois, fans are looking forward to brews from Half Acre Beer Company, Two Brothers Brewing Company and Revolution Brewing while Sun King Brewing Company will be representing Indiana with their Sunlight Cream Ale, Wee Mac Scottish Ale and Osiris Pale Ale.
A fan favorite last year from Kansas, Tallgrass Brewing Company’s Buffalo Sweat, 8-bit and Ethos IPA are sure to please. Serving it up Louisiana style, NOLA Brewing will pour NOLA Blonde Ale, Pale Ale, Brown Ale and Hopitoulas IPA while Abita Brewing will have everyone a little foggy with their delicious Purple Haze and Jockamo IPA.
Some of our far and away additions include Montana’s Big Sky Brewing and Sixpoint Brewing from New York.
From our neighbors in New Mexico, Santa Fe Brewing’s Irish Red Ale and Happy Camper IPA are sure to be a hit while Hopworks Urban Brewery from Oregon pleases the health conscious with their HUB Organic Lager and Hopworks Organic IPA.
Austin Beerworks from Texas will deliver the Black Thunder stout while Virginia based Lost Rhino Brewing Company pours their Rhino Chasers Pilsner. Rounding out the canned craft beers is Jacob Leinenkugel Brewing Company from Wyoming who will pour Fox Tail Pale Ale, American Craft Lager and Hop Box Imperial IPA.
Presale general admission tickets for the Ameri-CAN Canned Craft Beer Festival are available online at www.cannedcraftbeerfest.com for $25. General admission on the day of is $35. General admission includes entry into the festival with collectible 4 oz. sample can, which can be used to sample up to 20 beers from participating breweries.
VIP tickets are $100 (presale only, while supplies last), and include general entry with a 4 oz. souvenir can, VIP lanyard for all access and exclusive entry into the VIP Beer Garden with catered food and treats, private restrooms and a meet and greet with brewers.
This is a 21 and over event, no exceptions. Ticket purchasers and all guests must be 21 or over and must present a valid picture ID upon admission.

Ameri-CAN isn’t just a festival, it’s also a competition! The week before the festival, more than 30 certified craft beer judges will gather to taste and vote for their favorites in nine categories including IPA, American Pale Ale, English Pale Ale, Wheat Beers, Stouts and Porters, Ambers and Browns, Golds, Blondes, Pilsners and Light Lagers, Fruit, and Specialty Beer. Gold, silver and bronze winners will be announced at the festival and awarded a medal for their wins.
A portion of event proceeds will benefit the Scottsdale Cultural Council, serving Scottsdale residents, visitors, cultural institutions and artists by creating and advancing high quality arts and cultural experiences and opportunities.
