Portsmouth Beer Week: February 27 – March 5February 27, 2012
PORTSMOUTH, NH (February 21, 2012)—For the first time in the festival’s three years, 2Beerguys has teamed up with Seacoast Beverage Lab to host the 3rd annual Portsmouth Beer Week.
“As a Seacoast area beer blogger, it’s amazing to see the craft beer scene grow year after year not just in Portsmouth, but also in the surrounding towns. Portsmouth Beer Week is about celebrating with the community over a pint of beer and good conversation. I’m honored to be collaborating with area businesses and bars to spread the craft beer love,” said Brian Aldrich of Seacoast Beverage Lab.
Portsmouth Beer Week is a collective celebration of beer within the Portsmouth community. Local and regional breweries have teamed up with local establishments to provide some unique offerings to their draught lineups. All of this is leading up to Monday, March 5, which has both ceremoniously and affectionately become know as “Kate the Great Day”.
“Our goal is to foster a collaborative environment, so we can push Portsmouth further along into the national eye as the great beer city that we locally know it as,” said Aldrich.
Another marquee event will be the East Coast premier of The Love of Beer, a groundbreaking documentary film featuring influential women in the Northwest craft beer scene. Following the screening of the film, there will be a panel discussion featuring four of New England’s own influential women in craft beer: Nicole Carrier from Throwback Brewery, Andrea Stanley from Valley Malt, Gretchen McDonald from A&G Homebrew Supply, and Janet Egeleston from Northampton Brewery.
