SlantShack Jerky Introduces The Bronx Pale Ale JerkyMarch 20, 2012
New York, NY, March 14, 2012 – SlantShack Jerky, a New York-based company dedicated to crafting high-quality, fresh, flavorful beef jerky, has added two new varieties to its lineup of unique flavors. “Dried & True,” SlantShack’s first gluten-free product, made with organic ingredients and 100% grass-fed beef, is now on sale online and at Whole Foods Markets in New York, New Jersey, and Southern Connecticut. SlantShack has also partnered with The Bronx Brewery to create “The Bronx Pale Ale Jerky,” the company’s first beer-based flavor.
“The Bronx Pale Ale Jerky,” created in collaboration with South Bronx-based craft brewer The Bronx Brewery, is SlantShack’s first beer-based jerky. Using a blend of Brooklyn-based Tin Mustard, honey, and The Bronx Pale Ale, this new flavor brings together two of SlantShack Jerky’s favorite things—quality craft beer and quality jerky. In keeping with SlantShack’s commitment to customization and customer choice, “The Bronx Pale Ale Jerky” is available with either 100% grass-fed or USDA Choice beef. The flavor will be available for purchase at select bars and specialty food stores throughout New York City, including Stinky Bklyn, Chelsea Market Baskets, and Eastern District, and at www.slantshackjerky.com. SlantShack Jerky and The Bronx Brewery will introduce “The Bronx Pale Ale Jerky” for the first time at a special public tasting event on Wednesday, March 21, 2012, 6pm – 8pm, at Jimmy’s No. 43, located at 43 East 7th Street in the East Village.
For jerky eaters of legal age, SlantShack and The Bronx Brewery recommend pairing this jerky with The Bronx Pale Ale, a deep amber American-style pale ale brewed with five barley malts, generous additions of Cascade and Centennial hops, and a unique strain of yeast. The British, German and American malts used provide a blend of caramel, biscuit, and nutty malt flavors, and the hops offer a gentle, pleasant bitterness with an intense floral and citrus aroma. The dry-hopped, unfiltered, and unpasteurized beer is a perfect complement to SlantShack’s sweet and savory jerky.
SlantShack Jerky created its first gluten-free flavor, “Dried & True,” to be sold at Whole Foods Markets. On sale in the meat department at 24 Whole Foods locations in New York, New Jersey, and Southern Connecticut, “Dried & True” features a medley of ginger, garlic, honey, organic wheat-free tamari, and organic spices, and is made with 100% grass-fed beef. “Dried & True” is also available for purchase at www.slantshackjerky.com.
About The Bronx Brewery
The Bronx Brewery is a craft brewer and distributor based in the South Bronx. It was launched in 2011 by a small team with two things in common: a maniacal focus on creating high-quality beer and a passion for the Bronx. Its traditionally-crafted ales use only premium and minimally-processed materials to create fresh, bold beer from a borough known for its own uniquely bold character. The team is enthused to bring a rich brewing tradition back to the Bronx and craft a beer that the people of the Bronx and New York City can be proud to call their own.
About SlantShack Jerky
SlantShack Jerky was founded under a slightly slanted roof in New York City, where nine friends set out to create the jerky of their dreams. Today, we work with family farms throughout the Northeast to source sustainably raised grass-fed beef, and partner with Vermont Highland Cattle Company in Orleans, Vermont to handcraft jerky with a focus on quality, freshness, and flavor. SlantShack’s Build-a-Jerky feature offers customers the choice of either 100% grass-fed or USDA Choice beef, and a variety of unique marinades, spice rubs and glazes. For jerky like you’ve never tasted before, mix and match flavors including Maple Syrup, Garlic Powder and SlantShack’s signature Jerk McGurk’s Wild RubDown to create your own customized meat treat. We’re confident you’ll love our jerky as much as we do – just make sure you get some before we eat it all.
