NEWPORT, OR– Rogue Ales and Spirits salutes the American Armed Forces with the release of American Amber Ale in 16oz grenade cans, coming to shelves June 1st, 2014.

This beer is about America, not about a beer style – and at Rogue we build relationships, not just ales. For years we’ve taken an active role in supporting the men and women of our Armed Forces, and American Amber Ale has been our Patriotic Rogue since we first opened our doors 25 years ago. Of course, having a great beer style doesn’t hurt. Since its creation, American Amber has won 6 gold medals at the World Beer Championships.

Rogue Brewmaster John Maier pays tribute to America’s Amber Waves of Grain by brewing American Amber with hops and barley from Rogue Farms in Independence and Tygh Valley, OR . Using Rogue grown ingredients gives American Amber a unique taste of place that can only be grown in the USA .

These versatile grenade cans give you the freedom to celebrate America from Sea to Shining Sea – our 16oz cans offer maximum portability and are ideal for enjoying at home or in the great outdoors.

The new 16oz grenade cans will launch in four-packs alongside American Amber 22oz serigraphed bottles, 12oz six packs, 64oz growlers and draft. American Amber’s variety in packaging makes it the perfect beer to celebrate Independence Day, Flag Day, Labor Day, or the homecoming of American troops.

Celebrating its second century, Rogue Ales is an Artisan Varietal Brewery founded in Oregon in 1988, as one of America’s first 50 microbreweries. Rogue has 1,000+ awards for taste and quality and is distributed nationally, in 41 countries and in Army Air Force stores throughout the US and the world.

NEWPORT, OR – The Rogue Ales & Spirits Do-It-Yourself Revolution is growing with the creation of Rolling Thunder Barrel Works, a tree to table outfit that will bring the old-world tradition of barrel cooperage to the Rogue World Headquarters in Newport, Oregon.

“We are thrilled about Rolling Thunder Barrel Works,” says Rogue President Brett Joyce. “Making our own Oregon Oak Barrels will provide us with endless possibilities for aging our ales, porters, stouts, lagers, braggots, meads, gins, vodka, rums, and whiskeys. Coopering is a time-honored tradition and highly skilled craft that will have a great home in Newport. This adventure will be full of learning and discovery and while we’re not exactly sure what the final products will look like, we are certain that it’s going to be a lot of fun along the way.”

The white oak used to construct each barrel will be hand-selected from the centuries-old oak groves of the Oregon Coast Range, less than 100 miles from Newport.

Using Oregon White Oak furthers Rogue’s commitment to brewing and distilling with a proprietary palate of flavors; all of Rogue’s world-class beers and spirits are crafted with Rogue Farms ingredients grown on its two farms in Independence and Tygh Valley, Oregon.
