Memphis, Tenn., Nov. 22, 2012 – Flying Saucer Draught Emporium will kick off the 8th Annual “Stumbling Santa” Downtown Memphis pub tour and toy drive for Porter-Leath on Saturday, Dec. 1 starting at 7 p.m. at its location at 130 Peabody Place.
Attendees are encouraged to dress like Santa, Mrs. Claus or anything with a holiday theme and bring a new toy – or two – to donate to the children of Porter-Leath (no stuffed animals). There is no entry fee to participate other than the toy donation.
“It’s been fun to watch this event explode in popularity over the last several years,” said Kirk Caliendo, general manager of Flying Saucer. “With more than 700 participants last year (and even more expected this year), there is such a great holiday spirit surrounding this unique Downtown event, and the toy donations fill up our restaurant and bar each year. It’s really a fun event to be a part of.”
Participants will meet at the Flying Saucer to drop off toys and begin the festivities. From there, guests will depart the Saucer and travel down Beale Street to visit several of neighboring pubs and spread the holiday cheer.
