Sunday's Super Bowl Will Be Enjoyed With Craft Beer

Sunday's Super Bowl Will Be Enjoyed With Craft Beer

By Julia Herz

This year, more than ever, I predict beer lovers everywhere will be enjoying craft beer during the Super Bowl (see NFL official web site). The Herald Tribune (see article) near the game epicenter says, "Make the Super Bowl spectacular with craft beer", and even Martha Steward Living Radio on Sirius is featuring craft beer picks for the big game. I've done a quick inquiry to craft brewers asking them to share with you how they will celebrate game day (see below comments). Mixed up with that I'd love to hear how you as a beer lover (beer beginner to beer geek, does not matter) plan to incorporate craft beer into your big Sunday. Please do share!

The Boylan Bridge Brewpub in Raleigh, NC, is providing a place for beer drinkers to come and not watch the Super Bowl. That's because we don't have any TVs. Many of our patrons are glad, very glad.

We have been offering 1/2 off growler fills in the tasting room at Buckbean Brewing Company every Saturday during the NFL playoffs. It has been great hit.

One of the great benefits of the nation rallying around the television in honor of this great tradition is that the streets become miraculously empty. There is no better day of the year for a nice, meandering road ride. Many of my pals at New Belgium and I will be rolling out to Greeley, Colorado for the Winter Ralleye Cinnamon Roller ride. 70 miles out and back and we'll cap it off with a few Ranger IPA's and a check on the score. Enjoy yourselves out there!

At Jester King Craft Brewery in Austin, Texas we'll be working to elevate the status of beer by pairing our artisan ales with fine food and independent music for friends and family in an environment free of talking frogs, farting horses and fighting lingerie models.

Abita Beer will be celebrating by cheering our New Orleans Saints on to victory. Members of the "Who Dat" Nation here and all over the USA will be toasting Louisiana's favorite team with Louisiana's favorite beer. We were excited to be one of the beers selected by Martha Stewart Radio for Superbowl celebration. We're even closing the brewery on Monday to rest and recuperate after Sunday's big game. Go Saints!

At the Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens, we're celebrating Sunday, Feb. 7th by focusing on the event that truly galvanizes our great nation in the undeniable joyous celebration of friends, family, and great beer. We speak, of course, about the Stone Winter Storm http://www.stonebrew.com/calendar/default.asp?intEventsID=921 We invite craft beer lovers to come by and enjoy this great day of celebrating individuality and artistry in American food and beer in a pleasantly TV-FREE zone!

Be the most popular fan at the party. 1/2 gal growlers are $9.95 Friday-Sunday at Karl Strauss Brewing Company restaurant locations. That's 64oz of any Karl Strauss beer, including our special releases, and a reusable glass growler. http://www.karlstrauss.com/
