CraftBeer.com Readers Choose Best Beer Bars in America
An impressive craft beer menu, a stellar atmosphere, and servers who know their stuff are all the makings of a great beer bar. With more than 8,000 small and independent breweries in the United States, great beer bars play an important role in the growth of local breweries.
Each year, we ask CraftBeer.com readers to tell us about their favorite local beer bars. Our editors tally the nominations on a state-by-state basis–as well as Washington, DC and Puerto Rico–to create the annual Great American Beer Bars list. We hope beer lovers use our list as a guide to explore new bars that support craft breweries.
Below is the list of winning craft beer bars. Use the green buttons above to browse for bars in a specific state or Great American Beer Bar winners from previous years.

Old Town Beer Exchange
Huntsville, Alabama
OTBX was the first on-premise/off-premise craft beer store in Downtown Huntsville, Alabama. The entire store was created with the town in mind. The interior of the store features tables, chairs and shelves all sourced from the surrounding area. The bar is made out of 180-year-old heart pine that came from a barn just 15 miles away and it sits on top of bricks that came from the local Coca-Cola bottling plant that was downtown for over 50 years (it was demolished just prior to the bar’s opening). OTBX was the first in Alabama to feature the DigitalPour digital menu boards and also the Oskar Blues patented Crowler machine.
