Great American Beer Festival® tickets are sold out, but there’s still a way you can get into the celebrated beer fest. Grab your favorite pretzel necklace accessories and meet us at the train station.

Saturday, September 9, CraftBeer.com is taking a trip on a stretch of the California Zephyr, and we’re teaming up with Amtrak to give away GABF tickets along the way.

The trick to nabbing yourself a pair of GABF tickets is to show up at one of four stops and show us your most outrageous pretzel necklace. Grab those oversized sourdough pretzels, beef jerky sticks, snack sized peanut packets, donuts — whatever — throw ‘em around a piece of twine and come on down to the train station.

The full California Zephyr route runs between Chicago and San Francisco, with stops in dozens of cities including Omaha, Denver, Salt Lake City and Reno.

Our itinerary on Saturday, Sept. 9 takes us from Grand Junction, Colorado, to Denver, with a few stops along the way. All you need to do is show up to the train station wearing your pretzel necklace, go inside, and look for the California Zephyr pulling in. If we decide you have the most outrageous pretzel necklace on the platform, you’ll win a pair of tickets. We’ll have less than 5 minutes to pick a winner and say hello at the two middle stops, so be ready! Below are the approximate times the train is expected at the station.

The giveaway is about four weeks ahead of the festival, which runs Oct. 5 to 7 in Denver. We hope to see you and your most creative pretzel necklaces Sept. 9.
