Black Shirt Brewing Co.’s Imperial Red Rye IPA “Red Evelyn”

Denver, Colorado—August 20, 2016—Black Shirt Brewing Co. releases “Red Evelyn”—an Imperial Red Rye IPA. The beer taps at the release party, starting at 11am on August 20, 2016 at Black Shirt Brewing Co. (3719 Walnut Street). This year, Red Evelyn will only be available on draft and in very limited (50 only) 32-oz Crowlers to go.

Brewed with Belgian Candi Sugar, Colorado Wildflower Honey and five different hop varietals, Red Evelyn is brewed once a year in honor of the owner’s Grandmother, Evie. Memories of her inspire this complex Red Rye IPA: The flavors and aromas of pine, wildflower, caramel, and grapefruit invoke memories of her home. The spice and spunk, from the person she was.

As Branden Miller, co-owner and head brewer says: “Notes of caramel and toffee, rye, Colorado wildflowers, foxtail pine, grapefruit, as well as other bright and vibrant citrus tones make this Imperial Red Rye IPA just like Evie – unmatched! It’s incredibly elegant, layered, and complex, and is a beer worth sipping and savoring!”
