Minneapolis – Able Seedhouse + Brewery in Northeast Minneapolis is proud to announce a collaboration with Ballpark Café to create a specialty beer being released exclusively for the Minnesota State Fair.

Able Elderflower Wheat Ale showcases locally grown wheat from Dawson, Minnesota which is malted in house at Able. The beer is paired with triple pearl hops from Mighty Axe Hops farm in Ham Lake which gives the beer a soft melon and sweet citrus aroma and flavor.

“To finish the beer, we used hand-harvested native elderflower from Natura Farms in Scandia,” says Able Head Brewer Bobby Blasey. “The result is a balanced and crisp beer with notes of freshly baked bread, fresh herbs, fresh cut hay and meadow flowers.” The Able Elderflower Wheat Ale has a straw hue with 4.9% ABV and 6 IBU.

“This beer really goes back to what the Fair is about—showcasing local ingredients and farmers,” says Dan Theisen, Co-Owner of Ballpark Cafe. “It’s a really solid, refreshing, easy-drinking beer for fairgoers.”

Ballpark Café was voted “Best Place to Have a Beer at the Minnesota State Fair” in 2018 and features 23 tap lines dedicated to MN craft beer. Yesterday, Ballpark Café revealed its 2019 tap list, with 14 new and specialty beers created exclusively for the Fair. Each specialty beer is only available at Ballpark Café during the Fair’s 12-day run.

You can try Able Elderflower Wheat Ale at Ballpark Café during the Minnesota State Fair Thursday, August 22 through Monday, September 2. Any remaining beer will be available at the Able Taproom after Labor Day.
