Ninkasi Brewing Company to Bottle Rare & Delicious Series

Share Post

EUGENE, Ore.—Known for its lineup of well-balanced craft beers, Ninkasi Brewing Company announces its Rare & Delicious Series available for the first time in 22-ounce bottles with various releases throughout the year. Previously released on draft only, these small-batch beers offer craft beer drinkers a unique variety of styles while giving Ninkasi brewers a forum to explore and experiment.  The first release, Velocihoptor Double IPA, will debut mid-February, followed by Tart & Soul, a Blackberry Sour, available in March. Both will be available in 22-ounce bottles and on draft throughout most of Ninkasi’s distribution footprint.

“Our Rare & Delicious Series captures the creativity of our brewing team; now in bottles, we’re able to share these small-batch beers with even more of our fans,” says co-founder and founding brewer Jamie Floyd. “Many of these beers are passion projects, starting on a homebrew system and evolving along the way; we’re proud to show off the mastery of our brewing team.”

Available mid-February, Velocihoptor Double IPA is the first Rare & Delicious Series beer to be released. Created by Ninkasi brewer Jacob Schisel, the recipe for Velocihoptor was developed as a tribute to a dear hop-loving friend. Brewed with Meridian, Centennial, Simcoe, Columbus, Bravo, and Sterling hops, this beer has a larger-than-life hop profile. Resinous and citrusy, Velocihoptor captures the most loved characteristics of the Double IPA style.

Next in line is a Tart & Soul Blackberry Sour releasing to shelves and draft late March. For the past three months, members of Ninkasi’s brewing team have tinkered with a variety of fruit sours and landed on a blend of blackberry and marionberry for this springtime release. Paired with a dry tartness imparted by the lactobacillus souring process, the subtle blackberry sweetness shines through, creating a sour beer that is both bright and tart.

Velocihoptor Stats Unearth the deliciousness of Velocihoptor. With a larger-than-life hop aroma and citrusy notes, this Double IPA pours dark red in color. Crafted for the hop heads, get this Rare & Delicious beer before it goes extinct.
