Tennessee Brew Works Releases Secret City Imperial IPA
“What you see here, what you do here, what you hear here, when you leave here, let it stay here.”
– WWII Billboard at “Secret City,” Oak Ridge, Tenn.
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee Brew Works gives a nod to a more secret part of the state’s history with the release of Secret City Imperial IPA today. The Oak Ridge community in East Tennessee was home to the once Secret City, ultimately the biggest research facility for the Manhattan Project.
The Secret City Imperial IPA sits at a burly 10% ABV, 70 IBUs. It starts with a vivid cantaloupe orange color and moves to aromas of pine, tangerine, stone fruit, mango and honeydew. These aromas are replicated in the flavors which is highlighted by a rich full body, a nice resin mouth feel, solid malty backbone and a dry crisp finish.
Secret City Imperial IPA will be limited in availability and available at the Tennessee Brew Works Taproom 809 Ewing Ave. in Nashville on January 17 at 4pm. Draft will be available in the taproom, along with 12oz bottles to-go, please limit four per customer.
Additionally, Oak Ridge will be the setting for the first release party in East Tennessee on Friday, Jan. 24 at Crafter’s Brew Beer Garden, 856 Oak Ridge Turnpike in Oak Ridge. The party starts at 5pm with the Tennessee Brew Works brewery team on hand to talk beer and share swag giveaways.
On Feb. 1, The Casual Pint Hardin Valley at 10677 Hardin Valley Road in Knoxville will celebrate the release of Secret City and showcase other Tennessee Brew Works beers, including State Park Blonde, 1927 IPA and the very limited Colts Bolts pastry stout and Key of Lime hazy key lime IPA.
