Nashville, Tenn. – Tennessee Brew Works releases their fall seasonal, King Chestnut that pays homage to the history of the American Chestnut and its roots in Tennessee.

The King is back… the Tennessee Brew Works fall seasonal, the King Chestnut Brown Ale is here! 5.6% alcohol-by-volume, 15 IBUs and made with REAL American Chestnuts. Silky smooth and rich with all-natural roasted nutty aromas and flavors. Super tasty!

Once prominent, a blight destroyed almost 98% of the American chestnut trees between 1904-1906 (Wikipedia). In Tennessee, it was called the “King of the Forest.” Today, some of the largest surviving American chestnut trees are actually in Jackson County, Tennessee.  beer and food course

These days, the American Chestnut Foundation is working hard to repopulate the trees across the country. What better way to honor the history of the chestnut than through beer?!

RELEASE INFORMATION This beer will be available Wednesday, Aug 14th, after 11AM at the taproom. Available on draft, and to-go in crowlers, growlers, 6-pack bottles and cases. Limited supplies will be available at stores and restaurants in the Nashville-area, Knoxville-area and Chattanooga over the next few weeks.
