Wallace Brewing Co. Releases Vito – Rum & Oak Aged Strong Ale

Share Post

Wallace, ID – The Silver Valley’s premier craft brewer, Wallace Brewing Company announces its first spirit & wood infused ale. Starting today, Wallace Brewing is proud to release a rum infused one-off of its Vito, a toasted oak aged version of its 2015 NABA Bronze Medal Strong Ale.

Starting with the base Strong Ale, medium-plus toasted oak was soaked in spiced rum, sponging up the rum’s molasses, vanilla and subtle spice notes. The Strong Ale was then aged on the rum-soaked oak, imparting a complex caramel, vanilla and mocha aroma/taste profile. Honoring Wallace, Idaho’s silver mining heritage, 1,000 22oz bottles were dipped in a silver sparkle wax and hand numbered; additionally, only 12 1/6bbls have been kegged making Rum Vito the most exclusive beer released to date by Wallace Brewing.

Rum Vito Quick Facts:

  • 9% ABV; 50 IBU
  • Specialty Ingredients: Spiced Rum-Soaked Toasted Oak
  • Availability: Draft & 1,000 Wax Dipped 22oz bottles
  • Distribution: Northern Idaho, Eastern WA, Western WA
