ACBW provides an opportunity for small and independent brewers, craft beer enthusiasts and their community to celebrate the ever advancing beer culture here in the U.S.

May 5, 2013 (Fairbanks, Alaska) – HooDoo Brewing Company is excited to announce their involvement in American Craft Beer Week, 7 days designated to celebrate delicious craft beer. American Craft Beer Week runs from Monday May 13 through Sunday May 19, 2013.

During American Craft Beer Week, Fairbanks beer drinkers can expect events that will entice their senses. HooDoo has events scheduled to expand Fairbanks’ craft beer culture through education, collaboration, cooperation, and responsible libation.

“We had so much fun doing Alaska Beer Week in January, that we wanted to participate in this national event as well.” said Bobby Wilken, Owner and Head Brewer at HooDoo Brewing Co. “We’re excited about it. Our goal with ACBW is to offer craft beer fans in Fairbanks options to learn about, enjoy and share the beverage they love. We have a new release, educational opportunities, food pairings, and fun planned.”

“Our hope is that Fairbanksans and visitors who are curious about HooDoo and craft beer will come out and enjoy the vibrant and delicious local scene that’s right here in their own back yard.” Adds Paul Johnson, Quality Control Manager at HooDoo.

This year will feature taproom events like Dumplings and beer pairing with Sipping Streams Tea Co., a Brat cookout with Homegrown Market, the release of HooDoo’s new Maibock lager, beer classes with Bobby, an all American Vinyl Tuesday, and a toast that will be read simultaneously with all the other participating breweries in the country. About HooDoo Brewing Co.: HooDoo Brewing Company is the realization of a decade long dream.  Born and raised in Fairbanks, Bobby Wilken first discovered the goodness that is beer while home brewing during college at University of Montana (2002).

After Bobby’s first homebrew batch was bottled up, there was no turning back.  He finished his business degree and went on to the Siebel Institute of Brewing in Chicago and Munich, Germany.  While in Europe, Bobby toured breweries in England, Belgium, and Germany for a closer look at how the world’s best breweries make their delicious beverages. Upon returning to Alaska, he joined the crew at industry pioneer Alaskan Brewing Company in Juneau.  After a couple of years brewing Alaskan’s award winning beers Bobby moved into the laboratory to focus on quality control and recipe development.

HooDoo Brewing Company is the culmination of a journey into the world of beer, and the brews available will be a reflection of this journey.  Fresh, well made, craft beer – brewed in the heart of Alaska.
