Lewes, DE – As Crooked Hammock Brewery enters its third summer, the brewery, restaurant and beer garden have become a crowd favorite for locals and summer tourists alike. Their unique and approachable homemade brews and unrivaled atmosphere continue to draw crowds in masses, especially during the summer months when tourists from all over the eastern seaboard flock to the beaches of Delaware.
“This community has been tremendous in embracing our vision and our culture,” says Josh Grapski, Managing Partner of Crooked Hammock Brewery and La Vida Hospitality. “We’ve been blown away by the response of our customers and have seen our popularity continue to grow to not just become a successful brewery and restaurant, but a lifestyle brand. Crooked Hammock has become known for not only their laid-back atmosphere, delicious beach brews and backyard barbeque food menu, but also their retail items that help portray the feeling created at the brewpub. “When we created Crooked Hammock, we wanted it to be an escape for everyone,” explains Rich Garrahan, founder of Crooked Hammock. “One of the coolest things for us is to see people coming back to the brewpub wearing a Hammock hat or shirt or seeing people out in the community sporting our gear. We’ve created a mindset at the brewpub and it has grown to become not just a beer brand, but a lifestyle brand. ‘Summer is Hammock Season’ is an extension of that lifestyle, as nothing beats hanging out in our backyard on a hot summer day.”
The fun really kicks into high gear at Crooked Hammock during ‘Beach Escape Weekend,’ the unofficial start of summer at the brewery. Highlighted by the release of their two summer beers, Actively Fishing and Beach Escape, both on draft and in cans, the weekend will be filled with giveaways, live music and warm summer vibes.
“So much of our success was built on our delicious brews and our philosophy on brewing,” Jon Schorah, Brand Manager and Brewer. “We keep it simple: unique, approachable, high quality beers that anyone can enjoy.” Actively Fishing, a Czech Pilsner brewed with Noble hops and lemon peel, and Beach Escape, a Belgian White IPA with a beautiful mosaic of tropical hops and tangerine peel, are perfect examples of the brews that have made Crooked Hammock so popular. “Both of these beers are perfect for summer activities. They’re sessionable, refreshing and full of flavor.” Both beers will be released not only at Crooked Hammock, but on draft and in six-pack cans throughout the state of Delaware.
On top of the beer releases, Crooked Hammock will roll out a new line of retail items for the summer throughout the month of May. “We have a ton of great stuff hitting our shelves with the highlight being our ‘Summer is Hammock Season’ gear,” says Grapski. “Summer is our favorite season and we’re getting amped for everything we have to feature this year.”
Crooked Hammock Brewery, Restaurant and Backyard Beer Garden is open year round 7 days a week from 11am with late night service until 1am. Happy Hour specials are offered Monday through Friday from 2:30-5:30pm.
The one-of-a-kind facility is a must for first-time beach-bound visitors.
