What: Lone Tree Brewing Company, a neighborhood-focused, family-friendly brewery and tasting room that regularly hosts community events that gather around a stylistically diverse lineup of flagship, seasonal, and limited release beers, is hosting a night of jazz and a special tapping of Cancer IPA to support CancerBlows.

Created by Dallas Symphony Orchestra trumpeter Ryan Anthony, who was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma, CancerBlows raises both awareness and money to encourage research for cancers with a focus on blood cancers and multiple myeloma through exciting and unique musical events featuring the talents of brass musicians worldwide.

The CancerBlows jazz event will include a performance by renowned Denver-based trumpet player, Al Hood, as well as a silent auction featuring fly fishing packages, Nutcracker tickets, golf with Lone Tree Golf Club, restaurant gift cards and much more.

Food will be available for purchase by Woodhill Small Batch BBQ and Kristin Marin from Suga Me Sweet, with a portion of their sales to be donated to CancerBlows.

ABOUT CANCERBLOWS

In 2013 43-year-old Dallas Symphony Orchestra trumpeter Ryan Anthony was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma, a terminal bone marrow cancer that typically appears in patients aged 70 and older. Ryan’s musical community rallied around him and when they offered support, he jokingly replied that “we’ll all play a concert when I am healthy again and we’ll call it ‘Cancer Blows’”. Ryan is now in remission, and the joke morphed into The Ryan Anthony Foundation, who in 2015 put on CancerBlows, a once-in-a-lifetime musical event bringing together the most famous trumpet players in the world. The event raised more than $1 million with all of the net proceeds donated to the Baylor Health Care Research Foundation and Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation that work toward a cure for cancer.
