Pelican scored silver honors for:

“What a great start to 2018!  Pelican Brewing is honored to be recognized along with so many great breweries,” says Darron Welch, founding brewmaster, Pelican Brewing Company. “Kiwanda remains one of our most-decorated beers, and now Queen is getting her recognition as royalty in our barrel-aged series.”

Professional brewers and judges last weekend descended upon the growing beer town of to judge over 2,000 entries in the competition. Breweries of all sizes, from nearly every state in the union, as well as Columbia, Canada, and Belgium, sent over 10,000 containers of their finest product for evaluation based on a combined 156 specific beer styles.

“We’re here to celebrate and promote the best of the best in brewing—we know how much time and effort goes into entering beers into award competitions, so we designed this unique event to benefit brewers with national exposure and automatic entry for medal winners in the following year’s competition,” says event organizer Miles Wilhelm. “We have been working with the Brewers’ Association to ensure the same judging categories and guidelines as other national competitions. Our incredible growth is testament to the valuable evaluations brewers are getting for their entries.”
