Wissahickon Brewing Company Opening in East Falls
Philadelphia’s East Falls neighborhood’s long, dry spell without a brewery is coming to an end! Located at 3705 W. School House Lane, near Philadelphia University and the Wissahickon Valley, Wissahickon Brewing Company (WBCo) is set to open to the public this Fall.
“Construction is underway and a 15 BBL Brewhouse is being built and prepped for shipment” according to Tim Gill, Sr., Founder and Head Brewer for Wissahickon Brewing Co.
WBCo will be a full beer production facility distributing to local taverns and restaurants, and will feature a full-service tasting room. Initially, five foundation beer styles will be offered year round, with seasonal beers on rotation.
“We draw our inspiration from the rich history and beauty of the Wissahickon to name and develop our beer brands” notes Luke Gill, VP of Business Operations.
WBCo will concentrate on producing beer while Philly Food Trucks will feed hungry guests. A local artist gallery, merchandise sales, home brewing workshops, and a family/pet friendly atmosphere are all in the works.
