Denver, Colo. (June 29, 2016) – Denver Beer Co. and Outdoor Project have teamed up to create the first annual Mile High Summer Shindig, a free event open to the public hosted at the Denver Beer Co. Platte Street taproom on Saturday, July 9 from 11 a.m. – 8 p.m.  Attendees will enjoy an afternoon of live music, craft beer, food, outdoor gear demos, and games in celebration of summer and outdoor fun.  Proceeds from pint sales at the event will be donated to Denver Beer Co.’s 2016 Charity Partner, First Descents.

Outdoor Project, an online community for outdoor enthusiasts, and Denver Beer Co. will host sponsors Zeal Optics, Montbell, Guerrilla Gravity, Kelty, Mountainsmith, Mile High Clothing Company, COMBA, and Spyder who will all provide gear demos and giveaways during the block party.  In addition, party goers will enjoy live music starting at 11 a.m. from Gravity Tapes, The Dollhouse Thieves, Confluence, Modern Leisure, Josh Moorehead, and the Gin Doctors.  The Mile High Summer Shindig will feature food from several local food trucks as well as craft beer from Denver Beer Co. including a special tapping of a very sessionable petite saison brewed in collaboration with Base Camp Brewing Company out of Portland, Oregon.

“Outdoor Project is excited to take our summer party on the road and partner with Denver Beer Co. to bring the outdoor community together for a day of outdoor inspiration and fun,” stated Kat Dierickx, Marketing Director for Outdoor Project. “We’ve organized a similar event in Portland, OR for the past three years raising over $10,000 for local nonprofits. Denver Beer Co. is the perfect partner for this event and we hope this is the first of many summer celebrations in Colorado.”

“The Mile High Summer Shindig was created to bring together our friends and neighbors to celebrate summer, our love of the outdoors, good beer, and good company,” stated Denver Beer Co. Events Manager Devin Murray. “Not only will the block party be a really fun afternoon, but it is a great opportunity to ‘drink for a cause’ as proceeds from pint sales will benefit our charity partner, First Descents.”

The Mile High Summer Shindig will be hosted on Saturday, July 9 at 1695 Platte Street.  The event is free and open to the public.  More information can be found at www.milehighshindig.com or on Denver Beer Co.’s Facebook event page.
