RALEIGH, N.C. (April 11, 2016) –Shop Local Raleigh (SLR) presents Brewgaloo 2016, a North Carolina Craft beer festival featuring only NC breweries, live bands, food trucks and local vendors. Celebrating its fifth anniversary, Brewgaloo holds true to the philosophy that only “born here, owned here, made here” breweries can attend. The festival will be held in downtown Raleigh’s City Plaza on April 23, from 2-10pm. This event supports Shop Local Raleigh and its mission to sustain programs that strengthen our local businesses.

With over 20,000 attendees last year, Brewgaloo will feature over 85 local NC breweries and ciders, over 300 taps and over 50 local food truck and vendor partners. The event will spread out – stretching from city plaza to the Capital in downtown Raleigh. Entertainment will be provided for guests by 11 live local bands.

This year we’re also celebrating the 30th anniversary of Weeping Radish Farm Brewery. Located in Grandy, Weeping Radish is the oldest active brewery in North Carolina. Uli Bennewitz, the founder, will kick off the festival with a look back at how craft beer got started in the state in 1986 and he will also tap the ceremonial first keg.

General admission is free. The purchase of beer tickets includes a pint glass (special unbreakable acrylic souvenir glasses, available while supplies last). Guests can purchase $5 drink tickets to use for full pints (5 tickets) or 5- 3oz samplers (1 ticket each).

Saturday, April 23, 2016, rain or shine

General Admission: 2:00 – 10:00PM
