Great Basin Brewing Company Launches Beer Commercial Contest

By slagnado

Move over, Madison Avenue—Great Basin Brewing Company, with brewery-restaurant locations in Reno and Sparks, Nevada, invites aspiring filmmakers to submit entries for a 30-second TV commercial. Dedicated to being “the people’s brewery,” the call for entries is intended to involve the community and brewery patrons in the fun, creative process of building their hometown brewery’s brand image.

“We often receive videos from our customers that are very entertaining. We think there are a lot of people out there wanting an outlet to showcase their talent, humor and creativity, so why not give them one? And besides, who knows more about our beer than our loyal patrons?” said Tom Young, owner of Great Basin Brewing Company. “We are very excited to see what people come up with.”

The brewery welcomes any entry that is interesting, cool, humorous, or absolutely ridiculous. Amateur videos are encouraged. Production quality will not play a factor in the selection process, as Great Basin Brewing Company reserves the right to edit, re-shoot or combine concepts as deemed necessary. The winning entry or entries will represent the brewery, as needed, via broadcast television (at least on the Knitting Channel around 3am) and/or online media. Entries will be accepted on DVD at the Sparks location at 846 Victorian Avenue from April 1-30, 2012.

Winners will be announced and awards presented at The Sudsies—a red carpet ceremony on Sunday, May 13, 2012 at the Sparks brewery. The grand prize winner will receive their weight in beer, a $100 gift certificate to Great Basin Brewing Company, website credit, and all the fame, glory and bragging rights they deserve. Second and third place winners will also be selected and eligible for prizes.

Full contest eligibility requirements and rules, including accepted video formats, are posted at
