Dry Dock Brewing Co. Releases Signature Series Imperial Stout

Share Post

AURORA, CO— This week, Dry Dock Brewing Co. released the Signature Series Whiskey Barrel-Aged Imperial Stout in 22 oz. bombers. The 2014 Signature Series release of the Imperial Stout is the first of the 2014 Signature Series, a collection of small-batch, barrel-aged imperial and double beers. It is the first time this whiskey barrel-aged Imperial Stout has been available outside of the taproom.

The Signature Series whiskey barrel-aged Imperial Stout is a robust beer with pronounced roasted bitterness that is balanced by chocolate undertones and a dark fruit backbone. This velvety textured beer ages in whiskey barrels for 11 months, adding vanilla and coconut nuances to its flavor and aroma.

This beer was first brewed by Dry Dock Brewing’s Director of Brewery Operations Doug Hyndman for the annual brewers’ Ho Ho Ho Slapdown brewing contest in 2012. It took second place in the contest, but everyone loved it so much that it gained a spot in Dry Dock’s seasonal tap lineup.

The Imperial Stout, along with the rest of the Signature Series beers, will be available on tap and in bottles in Dry Dock’s tasting room. Less than 200 cases will be distributed throughout the state of Colorado.

Stay tuned for more Signature Series beer releases this fall.
