Convict Hill Stout | Independence Brewing Co. Austin, TX

Brewed with roasted barley and Belgian chocolate malt, Convict Hill Stout pours a deep obsidian color with a thick, creamy head. Flaked oats create a rich, creamy body that tempers the bitter roasted barley flavors of this robust, heady ale. This oatmeal stout was named after the limestone quarry in south Austin where convict laborers cut out the stone that was used for the interior of the Texas capitol building. It is our homage to those yearning to be free.
