One of the greatest military honors is the privilege to serve with the 3rd U.S. Infantry, otherwise known as the Old Guard. This prestigious unit serves as the official escort to the President, and its members maintain a constant vigilance over the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. In 1996, the first woman proudly joined its ranks.

SBC’s first spring seasonal honors the 3rd U.S. Infantry, otherwise known as the Old Guard, with a traditional bière de garde, a strong pale ale that’s a real keeper. Malt-focused with notes of ripe fruit and the woodsy aroma of a well-stocked cellar, this coppery brew’s tartness comes from an in-house honey yeast strain cultivated from our own apiary in collaboration with the Savannah Bee Co.4. Fermented with a proprietary yeast culture harvested from our brewery bee hives and conditioned with Savannah Bee Company Honey.
