Red Cockaded Ale

Red Cockaded (prn. Cock-aid-ed) Ale | Southern Star Brewing Co. Conroe, TX

This beer is named after the Red Cockaded woodpecker, an endangered species of woodpecker that has the largest urban colony in Jones State Forest, just a few miles from the brewery.

Part of the proceeds from the sale of this beer go to the Friends of Texas Wildlife, a wildlife rehabilitation organization that also aids in working with the Texas State Forest Service to preserve the habitat of this bird.
