On Tuesday, March 19 at 6:30 pm, Culinary Conversations presents The New Little Germany: New York Revisits the German Table, a discussion, tasting and beer pairing featuring former NY Times restaurant critic and author of The German Cookbook Mimi Sheraton, Schaller & Weber charcuterie master Jeremy Schaller, beer and brewing expert Josh M. Bernstein and Chef Kurt Gutenbrunner of The Standard Biergarten. The evening is hosted by food historian and Culinary Conversations curator Jane Ziegelman with craft beer provided by SingleCut Beersmiths of Queens, NY &  Brooklyn Brewery.

From the proliferation of local beer gardens to the growing visibility of Austro-German dining spots, New York City is rediscovering the pleasures of the German table. Join our panel of experts for an insider’s look at this culinary awakening.

Culinary Conversations are multi-sensory events that explore the vibrant food life of immigrant New York, both past and present. Among our featured guests you will find cookbook authors, food critics, historians and filmmakers, along with a full cast of working food producers from neighborhood butchers to four-star chefs.
