Over the course of the last five years, Jersey Shore-based East Coast Beer Co. has been building its distribution channels outside of its home market. Now, through a new partnership with Chesapeake Distributing, LLC, the beer company’s Beach Haus® brand of beer will be available throughout the state of Maryland, marking the seventh state where the beer is now available for purchase.
“We have been working hard these past years to make sure that the folks who want to enjoy our beer are able to,” said John Merklin, co-founder of East Coast Beer Co. “Finding the right distributors across different states is a long process that takes a lot of due diligence and care. We are excited to be working with Chesapeake Distributing; they understand craft beer and the craft beer consumer.”
Chesapeake Distributing will carry Beach Haus® brand’s Classic American Pilsner, Winter Rental, Kick Back Ale, and the newest variety, Cruiser IPA.
“We are very particular about the products that we work with,” said Teddy Calabrese, owner of Chesapeake Distributing. “Because we give each brand specialized attention, they really have to be the best, and the Beach Haus® brand is fantastic! Started 20 years ago by selling nuts and candies out of his car, Calabrese has grown his business into a multi-million dollar distribution company that specializes in local and regional craft beer. The family-owned and operated company focuses on creating strong relationships that are based on finding and satisfying the needs of each of its accounts. Being a relatively small distributor, with 3 trucks and vans, and 1,200 accounts across Maryland, they are able to stay nimble and adjust to the ever-changing market to provide clients with what they want.
Chesapeake Distributing is one of the few distributors in the state of Maryland with a beer, wine and liquor wholesale permit.
Currently, Beach Haus® beer can be found at 14 distributors throughout New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, North Carolina, and South Carolina.
