Gaines Street Brewery to host “Hail the Fjolk” Norwegian Imperial Stout event
GrassLands Brewing Company, a Tallahassee, FL brewery located in the revitalized Gaines Street corridor, recently brewed the first iteration of Hail the Fjolk – a Norwegian-style imperial stout that boasts a warming ABV of 12.8% with notes of hazelnut, dark fruit and dark chocolate.
Hand-bottled and hand-labeled, Hail the Fjolk is a tribute to GrassLands’ supporters of Norse heritage. Influenced by historical, Norwegian brewing practices, GrassLands brewers smoked malted barley before infusing into the brewing process. With its higher ABV and malt complexity, Hail the Fjolk Norwegian Imperial Stout can be cellared for future consumption or enjoyed shortly after purchase. The release will begin at 1pm Sunday, August 7 at the GrassLands Brewing Company taproom, located at 603 W. Gaines Street, #7.
GrassLands is currently awaiting the completion of its state-of-the-art 15-barrel brewing system (465 gallons per batch) and the brewery expects to begin distribution to the Tallahassee marketplace this fall. GrassLands’ brewers have been brewing on a pilot-sized 2.5-barrel (77.5 gallons per batch) system.
