Press Release | February 3, 2016
Wallace, ID – The Silver Valley’s premier craft brewer, Wallace Brewing Company announces a citrus infused India Pale Lager. Starting today, Wallace Brewing is proud to release 6:60 (Six-Sixty,) a hopped up lager melding lupulin from America and New Zealand with a crisp malt base and citrus peel.
Local Idaho-grown pilsner malt sets the tone with a distinct, crisp profile that’s elevated to 6% ABV; to this we introduce Cascade and Chinook hops and a secret New Zealand variety that lends notes of citrus peel, while a heavy addition of orange peel bumps up the juiciness. Despite its 60 IBUs, 6:60 lacks any harsh bitterness/bite from the hops. Imagine an aroma of freshly squeezed citrus oils wafting over a semi-sweet biscuit flavor that has distinct orange undertones. 6:60 is the lager that challenges the status quo.
6:60 Quick Facts:
- 6% ABV; 60 IBU
- Specialty Ingredients: Orange Peel, Idaho-grown Pilsner Malt
- Availability: Draft
- Distribution: Northern Idaho, Eastern WA, Western WA
About Wallace Brewing Company:
Wallace Brewing Company opened its brewery and Orehouse Tasting Room in January 2009. It calls 610 Bank St. in historic Wallace, Idaho home, a small town in the Silver Valley on I-90 made famous for its mining heritage, unfortunate role in the 1910 fire, and it’s ever popular presence of bordellos until a raid in 1991. American Brewers Guild graduate and resident Brewmaster, Jack Johnson has led production of Wallace Brewing’s award winning ales and lagers since October 1, 2011. Playing on the abundant history throughout the mountainside town, Wallace Brewing takes pride in producing beer of historic proportion.
