Thirsty Monk Brewery & Pub celebrates its 7th year of Sour Fest with a week long celebration of sours and wild ales, March 20th-25th at both Downtown and Biltmore Park locations.

ASHEVILLE, NC – Thirsty Monk Brewery & Pub, one of the nation’s premier beer bars and an emerging brewery in Asheville’s recognized craft beer industry, is excited to announce their Seventh Annual Sour Fest, coming up March 20th-25th. The pub will hold a week long celebration of sour beers and wild ales, tapping multiple kegs daily.

New this year, Sour Fest will be celebrated for a week at both Thirsty Monk’s flagship Downtown location, and their popular Biltmore Park location. Beer Buyer, Marketing and Events Coordinator Joanna Postlethwaite hand picks every beer on the extensive lineup, a process that begins months prior.

Highlights in this year’s Sour Fest lineup include The Bruery’s Frucht Boysenberry and Oude Tart; Oud Beersel’s Oude Lambiek (a truly unique “still Lambic”); Almanac’s Farmer’s Reserve Grand Cru White; New Belgium’s La Folie, Blackberry Oscar and Oscarworthy Coffee Nitro; Allagash Josephine and Golden Brett; Hi-Wire’s Foeder Aged Saison; Council’s Beatitude Raspberry Saison; Bird’s Fly South’s Apricot Sour and Morning Sessions; Natty Greene’s American Sour 2016; Petrus Passionfruit Ale, and more. A schedule of releases will be shared as the week approaches. Top of the Monk, Thirsty Monk’s sister craft cocktail bar located on the top floor of the Downtown building, will also be participating in Sour Fest with a special cocktail designed with Thirsty Monk Brewery’s own Easy Gose.

Thirsty Monk Brewery & Pub continues to grow its reputation as one of the Southeast’s finest craft beer bars and breweries, expanding its tap lists with an increasing selection of in-house brewed Belgian-style beers. With events like Sour Fest on the way, followed by NC Beer Month in April, and Asheville Beer Week in May, there will be no shortage of reasons to visit and enjoy a beer. Cheers!
