Saturday November 16th Event to Benefit Toys for Tots
(Papillion, NE) – Nebraska Brewing Company, a Marine owned business, is happy to once again join the U. S Marine Corps Reserve for the 6th year in a row to help the Toys for Tots Foundation collect toys for children who are less fortunate.
While the Marines coordinate and manage the program, the Foundation’s success depends on the support of the local community and the generosity of people who donate toys, and that’s why Nebraska Brewing Company is proud to continue to support this cause.
As with past Toys for Tots drives, we are hosting a Kick-off Party on Saturday November 16th at the Nebraska Brewing Company Brewpub in Shadow Lake Towne Center. (7474 Towne Ctr Pkwy #101, Papillion).
Our kick-off event will include the usual special Items; Great Raffles, Marines in Dress Blues & Toys! However, this season we’ve added something new; The 1st Annual Toys for Tots Celebrity Chili Cook-off.
We’ve paired up with restaurants and Chefs from around the Omaha Metro area, as well as some local craft brewers, to send their best chili concoctions to compete in our Celebrity Chef Chili Cook-off!
Participating Local Celebrity Chefs include; Ryan Miller, owner at Benson Brewing, Beth Bachmann Chef at Ryan’s Bistro, Chad Waters Chef at Nebraska Brewing Company, Tyson Arp, Head Brewer at Nebraska Brewing Company, and we keep adding more each day.
Starting at 1pm on Saturday November 16th, we’ll gather a panel of Marine’s and other local celebrities in the brewpub to appraise each chef’s chili. Once judging has completed, we’ll announce the winning chef and open up the chili sampling to the public. All attendees that have donated a ‘new unwrapped toy’ or $10 or more as a cash donation to our Toys for Tots drive will receive tickets for a sample of each competing chili.
All Toys and Proceeds from the Chili Cook-Off and Raffles will go to Toys for Tots.
Toys for children ages 0-2 and 12-13 of either gender are in the most demand. Some examples of appropriate toys for the 0-2 range are teething rings, plush toys, ring towers or anything that would stimulate their senses. For the 12-13 range, appropriate toys include board games, books, jewelry, and anything to prepare them for their teenage years.
