Craft a Brew, maker of craft beer-brewing kits and homebrewing equipment, announced today that it has received the 2017 iF DESIGN AWARD for its Catalyst Fermentation System.

Germany’s oldest independent design organization – Hannover-based iF International Forum Design GmbH – organizes the annual iF DESIGN AWARDS, one of the most prestigious and competitive design awards in the world. The iF DESIGN AWARD has been an internationally recognized seal of quality and a sign of design excellence since its founding in 1953.

The Catalyst Fermentation System, recognized in the product design category, stood out amongst more than 5,500 entries from 59 countries and won over the 58-member jury of independent experts with its aesthetics, design quality, material selection and innovation.

“We set out to build a fermenter that is elegant in its function and design,” said Kyle Westfall, Founder and President of Craft a Brew. “So we’re honored that the Catalyst is being recognized excellence in product design.”

The Catalyst Fermentation System is an innovative piece of homebrewing equipment that simplifies the fermentation process, making it easier than ever to make craft beer at home. Features seen only in high-end, professional brewing equipment are integrated into a compact homebrewing system that is both functional and elegant. Using BPA-free, food grade Tritan® polymer has provided the clarity of glass along with the durability of plastic. The revolutionary Trub Trap™ results in reduced risk of contamination and oxidation, reduced product waste and a more streamlined, pleasant homebrew experience.
