New Director of Sales will spearhead further expansion of Lakewood Beer in North Texas
DALLAS – The closing of 2013 was an exciting time for Lakewood Brewing Company, especially with the bottle distribution of Bourbon Barrel Temptress into retail outlets across DFW. Now with 2014 in full swing, Lakewood Brewing Company founder and president Wim Bens is proud to welcome the newest member of the Lakewood team, former regional manager of Boulevard Brewing Company, Jeremiah Wallis.
A native of McKinney, Texas, Jeremiah will join the Lakewood Brewing team as the director of sales, and will lead efforts to expand the availability of Lakewood beers within the local market.
“We’re really excited to have Jeremiah join our family at Lakewood,” said Bens. “We have a huge amount of respect for Boulevard Brewing Company and for what Jeremiah was able to accomplish while he was with them. His passion for craft beer, especially within DFW, is just one of the many traits that make him a perfect fit.”
With 6 years at Boulevard Brewing Company, Wallis began as an intern and quickly worked his way up to become the regional manager of North Texas. His efforts to expand Boulevard into Texas helped establish them as a permanent fixture among bars, restaurants and retailers in Texas.
When asked what drew him to Lakewood, Wallis said, “The opportunity to work with Lakewood Brewing Company was really something I couldn’t pass up. Though it was tough to leave Boulevard, I really admire Lakewood Brewing Company. They’re a family-owned business; they care about people; they’re proud of their roots and where they came from; and they are driven to produce very high quality beers.”
Wallis added, “I see a lot of similarities in the humble beginnings of Boulevard and what Lakewood is doing today. The fact that Lakewood is right here in my own hometown makes the transition even more meaningful. I’m looking forward to great things.”
